New Year’s Eve Gin Cocktails

New Year’s Eve means fizz of course, but everything’s better with gin! So we’ve prepared 2 easy and delicious New Year’s Eve gin cocktails.

We hope you’re all enjoying the festive season and looking forward to next year. The anticipation of midnight approaching brings a sense of excitement for a new year and (normally) a sense of sadness to see the back of the current year.  A new year brings new goals, new hopes, new dreams and fresh chants of “I’m on a diet!”

Here at Gin Explorer we’ve got two New Year’s Eve cocktails for you to help you see in 2017.  As always, we’ve kept it super simple because who wants to spend all night mixing cocktails for everyone!  It’s time to party…right?!

Raspberry Royale

Raspberry Royale Gin Cocktail

Bold, fresh and fruity. The raspberries add a tart edge to the fizz and blend their own floral aroma with that of the gin botanicals.

Ingredients:

  • 25ml gin (we suggest Pinkster, a dry gin which already has raspberries as a botanical)
  • 5ml sugar syrup
  • Raspberries
  • Prosecco / champagne

Method:

  1. Combine 1 raspberry, the sugar and the gin in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake it, shake it and shake again.
  3. Strain into champagne flute.
  4. Top with prosecco or champagne.

French 75

French 75 Gin Cocktail

A classic gin cocktail, French 75’s are long, dry and refreshing. The gin has a dryness and floral complexity while the champagne adds fun fizz! They’re also very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 25 ml gin (you want a classic London Dry, such as Bimber, with strong juniper flavours)
  • 10ml sugar syrup
  • 12ml lemon juice (approx. 1 lemon)
  • Prosecco / champagne

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients (apart from your bubbles) into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake it, shake it and shake again.
  3. Strain into champagne flute.
  4. Top with prosecco or champagne.

Thank you for all your support over the last year – we hope you’ve enjoyed the 2016 subscription boxes.  Here’s to a great 2017 and an introduction to lots of new artisan gins!
